So, is there a mid-ground in pricing between the akamai pull model and the cachefly push model?
Or, better yet, a pull from amazon s3?

Phil,

This is a great idea and fantastic way to implement it. I had similar issues dealing with both the pricing of Akamai, Limelight, CacheFly, etc - "you want me to pay how much??" - as well as their (mostly) prehistoric APIs and architectures.

Right now we manually move all of our media assets on Cruxy.com over to S3. This is an interesting idea that allows that to happen more organically and fluidly. We'll definitely be looking into this.

Thanks,
    Nathan

Hi, Phil,

My husband started working for Akamai recently. He's an engineer, and new to the company, but I asked him to email a link to your entry around the office.
